All Acadiana residents with an interest in open source technologies are invited to attend the December 2011 meeting of the Acadiana Open Source Group on Thursday December 1 at 6:30 p.m. As with past years, a single meeting will be held for November and December on the first week of December to account for the holidays. This meeting will take place at the LITE Center. As always, admission is free and open to the public.

Lafayette Mobile Jump Start, a one-day event focused on mobile development with various technologies including Android, will take place Saturday November 19 from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Lafayette Public Library, South Regional branch. Admission is free, but seating is limited, so sign up soon!

Ryan Farnell will be presenting on Node.js, a JavaScript platform for developing server-side applications that is based in the V8 engine used by Google's Chrome browser. While this information will be most useful to developers, the meeting is open to anyone interested.
