All Acadiana residents with an interest in open source technologies are invited to attend the April 2009 meeting of the Acadiana Open Source Group on Thursday April 30 at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held in room 117 of the Advanced Computer Technology and Research building on UL campus thanks to arrangements made by faculty of the Computer Science Department for us to use their facilities. Signs will be posted around the building on the day of the meeting to direct attendees. Parking is available in Zone 13. See this map for locations of the parking lot and the ACTR building.

Matthew Turland will present on the application of web scraping using PHP including a review of the HTTP protocol and various client libraries available as well as extensions available for data analysis and extraction. This meeting will mark one year ago that the first meeting of the Acadiana Open Source Group was held and proved successful enough to encourage their continuation.

Please remember to help to spread the word about the meeting to family, friends, classmates, and colleagues so we can get a good turnout!
